Chris started his career in 1992 with Phillips Auctioneers, working his way up to the position of valuer. He then joined Bonhams as a Regional Valuer, before working in the picture department. He began at Adam Partridge Auctioneers & Valuers in 2011 and specialises in a wide range of areas including paintings, watches, works of art and jewellery, qualifying with the Gemological Institute of America in 2015. His interests also spread to early English glass, Japanese ceramics and classic cars. He has been responsible for presiding over some of the largest collections Partridge’s have sold, including the Reginald Cheetham collection of militaria and scientific instruments, The Roger Haynes collection of works of art, The Jam Rock & Pop auction, The Exhibition & Exposition auction, The Sean Rice collection and the James Northcote Nash Collection of Art. Chris has also been responsible for cataloguing several of the on-site auctions held including the contents of the Vina Cooke Doll Museum, Summerfield House and for Liberty & Co. Chris now splits his time between The Cheshire Saleroom and his home in Devon, where he is setting up a South West satellite office.
